We are actively hiring for a Sr. Backend Java Developer role in either McLean, VA or New York, NYC, on a hybrid work schedule. This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion. The ideal candidate should have prior Capital One experience and a strong background in backend Java development.

Job Type: Contract-to-Contract (C2C)
Rate: $60 – $70/hour
Duration: 12 months (with potential extension or conversion)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance backend applications using Java and related technologies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions.
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, and maintainability requirements.
- Support continuous improvement through code reviews, testing, and iterative development.
- Collaborate in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Required Skills:
- Prior experience working with Capital One is mandatory.
- Expertise in Core Java and backend development.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-based services.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
